I have had some recent hearing issues for 2weeks. Sounds in both ears sound louder to the point of slightly irritating. Last Thur. I began to have significant constant white noise in my left ear only. Friday (before the weekend) I was able to get in to my physician to check for infection. Nothing; clear, clean, no redness, fluid; nothing. I began to hear a kind of second harmonics in my left ear. This was when I played the radio or sharp noises, some talking, mostly higher noises. It has gotten better over the weekend but I still hear bits of this harmonic background. I noticed when I whistle I got the harmonic constantly on the higher notes above middle C; then normal for lower notes. Today I get the harmonics whistling only on low notes below middle C and tinny(metallic) harmonics when people are talking. I will be in a remote oil field in Alaska for 2 weeks. Is this something urgent that I should get on a plane home? I plan to see an EMT Dr when I return if this persists.
