I have had all the symptoms of a serious systemic candida infection that has been disregarded by many doctors.I am a 56 year old quadriplegic, and have a foley catheter-indwelling that has been occluded by a thick white substance. Most recently I had to remove it because irrigation was impossible-the syringe would pop off due to pressure. I have had swelling in my face , ears, and throat. White in color, the skin fills, a red area develops, which often ooze serum. I have had belly fat and bloating, tooth decay, fatigue, and often have outbreaks isolated in the elbow or feet. I do not have any vaginal symptoms, since I insisted my caregiver never use the same washcloth or bath water for catheter care. The doctors will say no fungus I in my urine, but shrug their shoulders at the clogged catheter. I have used probiotics but I have had sepsis twice, the last nearly killed me. I was told it was caused by a UTI. Which had been the culprit the year before. Who should I seek for treatment, infectious diseases? internal medicine? dermatologist? Thank you for your consideration.
