I have had a very severe breakout which seems to be cold sores which I have had all my life. But this is a different case. It started with what I thought was food poisonin, the chills, vomiting, fever but them followed by a few blisters next to my nose. Within 48 hours it spread like wild fire ito now, on my chin, my lips, my nose my right side of nose up to my eye which is very swollen almost shut, and between eyebrows. The e.r. gave me Valtrex but it's not helping. It's very painful,, swollen and itchy. Will putting Mupirocin on it hurt it until I can get to the dermatologist?
