I Have Been Limping On My Left Leg For 4

I have been limping on my left leg for 4 months. Two weeks ago I had an MRI on my left knee and it showed a torn meniscus. About two months ago I started having sharp excruciating stabbing pain randomly in my right calf. It freezes my leg up like a muscle cramp does, but it only last about 5 seconds and then quits. I wonder if the limping has caused some nerve damage. It seems to happen when I stress the calf like twisting my leg to apply pressure on car brake. I am very concerned when I drive that it will happen, which it has a few times. I always have my left foot ready to hit brake as my right leg is incapacitated during the attack. Is this a nerve related condition?
