I Have A Question, My Husband Has A Feeding Tube

I have a question, my husband has a feeding tube because he has OPMD, so can't eat food , when we check and see if he can take the formula (he eats 6 times a day) we insert the syringe and pull here lately its been completely full of some kind (probably stomach contents) of liquid, and we were told at the hospital 2 years ago, when he got the tube, if anything come up past 40cc in the syringe then we had to wait a little while, check it again, That being said, for the last 3 days the syringe has been full (60 cc) every time we check it, so he drains the tube, and I feed him. I can't understand why this is happening?
