Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I had half my thyroid out 7 years ago for a benign "hot nodule". A subsequent ultrasound showed nodules on the remaining half and i was put on levothyroxine to keep it inactive. My surgeon retired and said my pcp, an ob-gyn could prescribe it. But for the past 2 years my TSH has been low(same senario as before the "hot nodule") My pcp is now referring me to an internist for this and cholesterol issues( which is what got me started on the thyroid journey as when i went to one 15 years ago , he said the thyroid stuff had to be dealt with 1st before the cholesterol). Is this the bst step to take? I never have had any hyper thyroid type symptoms, more like hypo. thanks,
