I Had An Ileostomy Reversal A Month Ago, Which Seems

I had an ileostomy reversal a month ago, which seems to have gone fine. There is a small leak, which is healing naturally and i am told should be OK in a few weeks. I am going to the toilet and otherwise functioning fine. However, i am bloated and my stomach sticks out to the point where some of my clothes don't fit. I plan on starting running when the wound has completely healed. Should this solve it? Any other suggestions? (I'm a 54 year old male and had a stoma for 11 months.
Thanks
