Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I cut my thumb about 24 hours ago near the base with a piece of glass. The cut is about 3/4 inch long and I'd say around a 1/4 inch or more deep. I cleaned the cut and being a Marine Corps veteran, I super glued the cut shut. It wasn't perfect but stopped the bleeding. It's not red or swollen and the cut itself does not hurt. My only pain comes from my two thumb joints, which is why I'm here. I'm 27 and I've popped my fingers my whole life including my thumbs. Since I cut my thumb I haven't been popping it or using it at all really. My question is: Could the pain in my joints be from not using my thumb and popping it like normal or is there a possibility that I cut a tendon or something and it only hurts in the joint and not the meat around the cut?
Thank you
Jonathan
