I am on my second day of metronidazole for tooth infection, cannot take penicillin, I am having the same side effects as penicillin one, band of dull pain in my upper abdomen and bloating as if I am 9 months pregnant, I want to continue for at least 5 to 7 days or until I can no longer take the discomfort, My dentist wants the infection cleared up before he does a root canal next week, My ? Is, should I be taking pro biotics now while on the antibiotics, I also have gastritis and these antibiotics seem to trigger it while on them, anything you could suggest to get me thru would be helpful Thank you
