I Am On Citalopram 20mg. I Have Tried To Reduce

I am on Citalopram 20mg. I have tried to reduce and cease them but my head clutter and 'can only see the gloom side' mood comes back. While its never worse than it ever was. I am 55 and the stress that found me on this medication is still very much in my life and while I have distanced my self as much as possible it will always be present. I am slowly reaching a place of acceptance, but like all depression/anxiety it is a journey... which I am still on. my question is... Is there any serious detrimental effects if I choose to stay on these long term ... perhaps even life. I am feeling well and 'together' when I take them. I am about ready to just accept that this could be a long term solution... Is there any danger of me being on these long term. I am only on one other medication for reflux and ulcers. I would like some guidence please. Donna
