Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am due to have neck surgery due to bad pain for over 2 years and not able to get enough pain killer. I also have a nodule on the thyroid that has grown larger in the last year or two. My ENT who does the opening for the neck surgeon suggested removing the thyroid on the way in to do the surgery(it would make the surgery easier(and probably more chance to be effective). I would still have my parathyroid and I was on thyroid replacement therapy for years up until 15 years ago because I had my tonsils irradiated as a child and it didn't cause me pain. Oh, if I haven't mentioned, It would be without a biopsy???
