I Am A Type 1 Diabetic Due To Whipple Surgery

I am a type 1 diabetic due to Whipple Surgery for neuoendocrine tumors on my pancrease in 2008. Recently the tumors returned on my liver & I had lung resection Feb 2016 for Non Hodgins Lymphoma. The non Hodgkins has also returned. Nov 1, 2016 I started Octreotide treatment for the NET. I am now experiencing very low blood sugar drops, usually in the P.M. My enterologist is somewhat puzzled & aside from telling me to monitor my blood sugars more closely & cut back on my insulin which I inject after meals(humalog) & Lantus at bedtime didn't have much else to offer. Does this seem like a reasonable approach to treating the the drops. They have been rather drastic (in the 40's).
