I am a 77 year old woman with lung cancer, COPD, heart problems, etc. I have had a bought with emesis and am not healthy enough to undergo a surgical procedure to determine what is bleeding, whether I have an ulcer, etc. My husband just went into a nursing home and I am living on under $1200 a month. I own my own home but my household expenses exceed my income. I have been prescribed Carafate and have been using in since June 22, 1915. I have medicare with AARP United Health. My co-pay for Carafate is $90 for a 10 day supply. As much as I need this drug there is no way I can afford it and am hopeful I can get help from someone somehow. Please respond.
