I Am 70. Male. I Have Arachnoiditis And Use 1

I am 70. Male. I have Arachnoiditis and use 1 10 mg oxcycontin and up to 3 5mg oxcycodone tablets a day for partial pain relief. I accepted partial pain relief after a two week full time pain management course.

My Doctor retired, My pain specialist and my Neurologist approve my use of these opiates but my new GP says I must stop taking opiates. GP's do the prescribing of medications in Australia as seeing Specialist is difficult.

I have been taking opiates for 6 years or more and have been on doses of 50-60 milligrams a day but not for the past 4 years.

Should I try stopping all opiates and live with not being able to sit walk or live a 'normal' life or should I continue with a dosage averaging less than 30mgs a day?
