I Am 68 Years Old And Have Been Diagnosed With

I am 68 years old and have been diagnosed with bronchitis and have been sick with it for about 6 - 7 weeks. In that time I have taken 2 antibiotics, a Z-Pak and a 10-day course of Ceftin. I have had two chest exrays and the last one showed improvement, though I still have a cough and thick, yellow mucus to cough up in the morning after rising. Throughout the day it is thinner and more clear in color. My question is: I have been given a prescription for Levofloxacin and after reading the information sheet about the side effects, I am afraid to take it as they seem severe and can cause permanent damage. Are there other, safer antibiotics that could be prescribed that do not have so many severe side effects? I am really concerned about this and just need another opinion. Thank you.
