I Am 47 Years Old, Still Have My Period Every

I am 47 years old, still have my period every month ( + or - few days) During the periods I do get pretty sick - nausea, migraine , cramps. I was diagnosed with fibroids, but my doctor is not too concern, he thinks they are not big enough to be concern, and should disappear with time. Recently I had my check up, ultrasound, usual early exam, and everything seems to be the same. however, I experienced such a bad cramps during my last period, that was almost ready to go to the hospital. Likely , with some Motrin, the pain went away. But I am concern, because I usually do not have cramps as bad as I had. What can it be?
