Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am 27 year old male. I have family history of heart disease (my dad and 2 of his brothers died by heart disease).I have a heart defect (small hole in my heart). I think i have ventricular septal defect. I recently had a blood test and my trig is very high (1070, ldl is normal n hdl is low (24), homeocysteine levels are high, have vitamin d deficiency. I have high bp (140/90) as well but I ate ice breakers ( sour candy) right before I had a check up. I dont know if that blood test is accurate because I ate heavy meal (fried rice with goat) and went to sleep short time after (11:30 pm) and had blood test at 12:30 pm the next day. I sometimes have mild needle poking pain in my left side of my chest and sometimes i think i have heart palpitation (raising heart beats with mild pain when lying down) and sometimes get dizziness when i wake up from laying down position..Dr. prescribed me tricor 145mg, vitamin d3 5000mg. Should i be worry? I know this is a bit obvious answer that i should be worried since odds are against me but I just want to make sure.
