a person who is very close to me has dis diesease.will i loose him??? y is it only for athletes?? itz important.plzzzz respond.....plzzzzzzz nd plzzzzzzzzz.......pray 4 his long life...thank u.....

yes it can be deadly, hypertrphy cause a disminution in the perfussion of cardiomyocites (heart cells) cause there's more tissue and the same blood vessels, and this could cause ischemia.- the athletes hypertophy isn't the most common type, hypertension and aortic stenosis are, and those are more serious.- but if the patient is caught on time,and the treatment works the life prognosis is good.- hope he/she gets better.- :)

hy. my san have hypertrophic cardiomyopathy and is newborn(just 1 month). the doctor give us propranolol . now he is fine. he never show us like it s sick or something like this. We live in ireland, and the doctors are good. We don;t know yet if is genetic or methabolic disease. Already they took sample of skin and muscle biopsy . I feed him at breast . PLEASE could you tell me if later can this disease will be worst, or if you know another cases? Doctors discover first a murmur at my boy.

hello everyone. i'm 27 and i have 2 heart conditions, plus a stroke and as a bonus a heart attack...? the heart conditions are, pericarditis(i have this problem fixed)and hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (if these pieces of info help in any way)does anyone know if there is any kind of birth control pill, for women with heart conditions, or if there is some kind of research, or getting close on getting a solution to this...problem? plz excuse my poor english and the luck of technical terms, i m from greece.. thank u in advance.

My husband has Hypertrophic Cardiomyopothy. He has had 2 incidents where the veins on his temple/forehead bulge and throb causing him discomfort. He is 45 yrs old and just had a re-check after the first year of knowing that he has HC. He had this 2nd episode after the Doctor appt. Naturally. It seems that both times this has happened it was very hot out. Could this be from dehydration or could it be related to the HC?
