How To Withdraw From Klonopin?

I am taking Klonopin and have been on it for many years like, maybe 13 years and am very dependent on it.... my VA doctor is wanting to take me off and says it will take years, few years or so....I am sooo scared as they have Always had to put me back on it when even starting to taper off of it....
