How To Withdraw Paxil Safely?

Hi recently my Dr put me on paxil 20mg. I ve been on it for almost a week now and I ve had severe dry mouth, headaches, haven t been able to sleep, eyes were sensitive to light. What is a safe way to get off of it, seeing I ve only been on it for a week?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi, thanks for using healthcare magic

It would be best to speak to your doctor about the effects that you are having so that he or she can document these effects and give you alternative medication.

In general, since you have only be using the medication for a week there should not be any significant issues with discontinuation. Symptoms normally occur when a person has been using the medication for at least 6 weeks.

I hope this helps
