How To Treat Thyroid Leading To Difficulty In Swallowing?

I had the left side of my thyroid removed over 30 years ago. No cancer just growths. My right side is totally full of growths. I go to the thyroid dr twice a year. They do sonograms. I had the growths checked for cancer. All OK. I am starting to have a little trouble swollening. I do take thyroid medicine, have for years and my tests always show it is working fine with the meds but it is maxed out in growths. The dr told me it is my call if I want surgery or not. What do you think?
