How To Treat The Fatigue Feeling And Headaches?

Hi,
I am a female in my mid 40's & quite healthy I would say. A few years ago I was unwell for about 3 months. The Dr was unsure what it would be but put it down to a virus. Hopefully in time it would go. If it did not they would look into it further. Luckily it went, but every now the symptoms come back maybe for like a week at a time, but it seems to more frequently now. I have pains in my joints, but not all of the time. I feel like I have flu coming on & a bit shivery on & off. The main thing is the fatigue. I still go to work, but at times I really find it an effort when it comes back & really hard to find the enthusiasm to do anything. My mood becomes quite low too. I feel like i have a fuzzy head, sometimes headaches & almost feel like I have had a few drinks. I am getting a bit concerned now that this is maybe something else more permanent, and not sure if I should go back & see my DR?

Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic.
I can understand your concern.
Yes, you should definitely go to your doctor a day get yourself checked.
At your age of 40 years following are the likely cause for your symptoms.
1. Anemia
2. Hypothyroidism
3. Hormonal imbalance due to perimenopausal age.
So better to consult your doctor and get done hemoglobin estimation, thyroid function test and hormone levels.
If all these are normal then no need to worry for major illnesses.
Sometimes, undiagnosed stress and anxiety can also cause similar symptoms.. So consult psychiatrist and get done counselling sessions. Try to identify stressor in your life and start working on it's solution.
You may need anxiolytic drugs too.
Don't worry, you will be alright but consult doctor and discuss all these.
Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
