Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have a bump on the side of left leg which I thought was a simple pimple with a whitehead. Am not sure what it is or how concern I should be. After 2 days, it now has grown to a half-dollar (which I thought was caused by the inward inflammation from the pressure applied by sitting). It is a mini-mound with a whitehead that I have since scrubbed and is sore to touch, hence, awkward sitting issue. The lump is under the skin and is not tangibly spherical.
As per your history it looks swelling of soft tissue. According to your history there is possibility of benign swelling around leg. As swelling is not reducing I will advise you to further investigate for the cause of swelling. I will advise you to do MRI and Ultrasound of the swelling. If its collection or benign mass it can be excised.
Till time you can take anti-inflammatory and antibiotic if infection is suspected.
Hope this answers your query. If you have additional questions or follow up queries then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your queries.
Wishing you good health.
Take care
