Thanks for asking on Healthcaremagic. Any swelling which can be easily palpated on the body becomes easily accessible for FNAC. Fine needle aspiration cytology is a procedure where a pathologist inserts a fine bore needle into a swelling, breaks up some cells in it with the needle and aspirates with the syringe. Slides are prepared from the aspirate, stained and seen under a microscope. The features of the cells obtained give us the Pathology behind the swelling. Go in for an Fnac and you ll get the diagnosis and further you ll be able to decide what to do with it. Hope it helped.
