How To Treat Swelling Behind Knees, back Pain And Severe Foot Pain After Child Birth?

I am 14 weeks postpartum and nursing. Since I had the baby I ve had pain and swelling behind my knees, bad lower back pain, and severe foot pain especially in the mornings. The doc did a scan to check for leg clots. It came back with nothing. They said these symptoms should get better but they seem to be getting worse. What could be wrong?

Hello,
I have gone through the query and understood the concern. If vascular causes like blood clots have been ruled out as the cause of the pain and swelling, the other most likely cause would be orthopedic. Posture, especially if you are feeding the baby, can cause back strain and pain. Proper position and maintaining an erect back at all times, simple back strengthening exercises help to relieve the pain. Foot pain can be managed with arch or heel supports as the case may be after examination. The application of a knee cap helps to relieve swelling and provides support. If you have gained weight during pregnancy try to get back to a normal BMI. Cycling also helps if there is no acute pain. Hope this helps.
