How To Treat Sunburn Sensation On Thigh And Arm?

Hi there. I have had a sunburn sensation for a few weeks now. It first appeared on my left thigh and arm, no rash or redness has been observed. Now it is more intense on my left thigh, still no irritation, redness or rash appeared. I began a treatment with testosterone a month ago.

Hi,

Your symptoms are suggestive of allergy to sun or newer medication. I would suggest you to use a regular sunscreen at least half an hour before stepping out. Sunscreen should be reapplied every 3 hours to maintain the effectiveness of the cream. Antihistamines can be orally take to avoid itching. Mild steroid creams like hydrocortisone can be used for 3 to 5 days at night.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Saranya Ramadoss, General & Family Physician
