Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I sprained my foot March 1st, have had it x-rayed twice, and they say it s not broken. It has been getting steadily worse over the last 2 months, so much so that half the time it is too painful to put wait on it. I could not get an appointment for another month with a foot doctor.
Usually, when the foot is sprained, should put at rest for a few weeks until betterment. Plus, we recommend applying hot and cold compresses after 72 hours from the day of accident when you sprained the foot. Immobilization is very important, if you did not strictly follow it, then, it won't heal so fast. If the pain has gone worse, then, should check with foot specialist or orthopedic specialist and run MRI. Meanwhile, try not to move your foot until you see the specialist, and apply anti-inflammatory cream locally.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Albana Sejdini, General & Family Physician
