How To Treat Soreness And Slight Bleeding From Wound?
I cut the underside of the arch of my foot a week ago. It didn t bleed much. I cleaned it. However it hasn t healed as yet and is still sore when I walk. It weeps a little and is red but doesn t look infected. The wound may have been 1.5 - 2cm. How long will it take to heal?
The skin of foot is thick and different from skin on any other part of the body. So when one gets a cut or when we do surgery of some sort we remove stitches after 10 to 14 days. You should have got the skin cuts stitched. Take an antibiotic and an anti-inflammatory medicines. Daily dressing with sterile gauze and liquid povidone iodine. Give rest to the part by rest at home.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. T. Chandrakant, General Surgeon
