How To Treat Skin Ulcers While Suffering From Sickle Cell Anemia?
hello doctor I suffer a lot from sickle cell crisis. have never taken the drug hydroxyurea which I understand can minimize thepain . I also suffer skin ulcers . will the drug I have mentioned help me overcome my suffering if prescribed. I WILL APPRECIATE ANY GOOD ALTERNATIVE DRUG TOO. am always anaemic even though I take over the counter blood tablet and multivites regularly. seems I lack oxygen a lot.

The course of sickle cell anemia is marked by complication like sickle cell crisis.
The frequency of complications depends on percentage of HbS in blood.
The sickle cell anemia should be treated with drugs prescribed by your hematologist.
Hydroxyurea is commonly used in patients of sickle cell anemia to reduced the complications of sickle cell anemia.
The ulcers caused by sickle cell anemia can be treated only when underlying cause for them is managed.
Dressing of the ulcers should be done promptly in order to prevent infection of the ulcer.
I suggest you to consult your hematologist for proper prescription of drugs and for management of ulcers.
Proper treatment of sickle cell anemia is only possible if compliance with drugs is proper.
