I was assaulted with a weapon 7 yrs ago. I have severe headaches, neck, elbows and shoulders still continue. I also have Tinnitus from the assault. Will these injuries turn into arthritis or something of that sort? I was 50 at the time of the assault.

Hello,

You are continuing to have severe headaches, pain in the neck, elbows and shoulders after an assault with a weapon 7 yrs ago. You have also developed tinnitus. Tinnitus commonly occurs due to impaction of wax in the auditory canal. It can be removed with the help of ear drops or by ear wash done by an ENT in his clinic.

Get clinically examined by an ENT, to detect partial or complete perforation of ear drum. Tinnitus may occur because of that too. The treatment depends on the pathology detected. Combination treatment with medicines and hearing aid are helpful. Surgery is recommended only when medicines don't work.

You are suggested to get clinically examined by a GP, get all required tests and imaging tests done to detect the factor / pathology causing the symptoms so that treatment can be started at the earliest. A combination of physical therapy, rest, medical treatment and other at-home remedies can often resolve the problem.

Stay away from addictions, smoking, drugs, alcohol, etc. Maintain healthy weight. For relief, you can take NSAIDS, one stat when needed. Take medicines after food. Applying pain spray (Volini) and massage therapy may be helpful.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
