How To Treat Pricking Sensation In Throat And Nasal Congestion While Having Sore Throat?

I ve got a sore throat that feels like knives when i swallow, a cough, pink eye (moved from one to the other) no runny nose but i have a gross untreated cavity where bits of the tooth fell out - it isnt sore though. my jaw sometimes clicks painfully when chewing or yawning - not normal

Hi Dear,

welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query pricking sensation in throat and nasal congestion while having sore throat is due to strep throat which is due to streptococcal infection and it could be due to upper respiratory tract infection known as pharyngitis. I would suggest you to take antibiotics like Augmentin or Azithromycin for 5 days. You should take anti-inflammatory painkiller Ibuprofen for relief from pain and inflammation. Chew a Vitamin C pellet daily. Do warm saline gargles. Gargle with an antimicrobial mouthwash. You should take steam inhalation with vaporizers. Avoid spicy, hot and sharp food substances. You should avoid cold carbonated beverages. Sip on warm water. Avoid cold carbonated beverages. Visit ENT specialist once and get throat culture and sputum test done to find out exact cause and start treatment accordingly.
