How To Treat Pain Caused Due To Labial Frenulum Tear?
I tore my inferior labial frenulum when brushing my teeth, don't know if it's just a cut or a complete tear. it was bleeding badly before, but now it's just bleeding a bit. still hurts a lot though, but that may be because the flesh was hit hard by the toothbrush as well. it's not just the frenulum wich is hurting.
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain there seems to be injury to your lower labial frenulum and the adjoining soft tissues that is leading to inflammation and pain and there can be tear of the frenulum too...
As the blood supply of the oral cavity s profuse the injury/wound will heal faster and you need not to worry about it.. But in case if you can observe that the frenulum is hanging and is completely torn you should consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated an a small stitch can be placed if needed..
As of now you can apply numbing gel containing Lignocaine over it and also take anti inflammatory painkiller like Ibuprofen.. Do cool water rinses to reduce inflammation and pain.. You can also take a soft diet to prevent further injury..
Hope this helps..
Regards.
