How To Treat Pain And Yellow Fluid Discharge From Ears Caused After Cleaning Ear Wax?

Ok so last Friday I found myself with a slight ear ache so naturally I decided to clean my ear with a little ear bud swab thing, however whilst using it I think I put it in a little too far (I put it in the part where the ear narrows to a tunnel). This triggered a sudden large amount of pain and leakage of yellow watery fluid, since then (It s 1:35 Monday morning) I have been in a sizeable amount of pain to the point where sleeping is difficult which should be apparent due to the fact I m up at 1:35 in the morning messing around on the internet. There has been no further discharge from the ear however there has been a very slight loss in hearing and my entire ear is now a big sensitive mess which hurt whenever I touch any part of it including the outer ear area, thank you for the help I would appreciate quite a rapid response as this has cost me many hours of sleep

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have pain and yellow fluid discharge from ears caused after cleaning ear wax. There must be soft tissue ulceration while removing ear wax. I would suggest you to consult an Otolaryngologist and get evaluated and a thorough otoscopic examination can help in diagnosis and treatment can be planned accordingly. If there is infection he can advise you antibiotics like Augmentin, anti-inflammatory painkiller like Diclofenac and put antibiotic ear drops.Keep you r ear dry and cover it while bathing .

Hope your concern has been resolved.
