General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
I understand your concern.
Ovarian cyst you have is 6 cm in size usually simple cysts less than 10 cm in size are given expectant treatment with hormonal cyclical treatment... & it mostly disappears in 3-5 months.
Bigger cysts / small cysts not responding to expectant treatment/ compound cysts are removed by surgery.
You had sever pain & visited ER .. the pain killer given is not affecting, you have fomented it..( actually no fomentation or massage is recommended ) & pain is increased. I would suggest to consult a gynecologist with your reports from ER..exclude surgical emergency ( rupture of cyst/ torsion ) & start treatment as per the advise given.
Thanks.
