How To Treat Mild Swelling And Pain In Right Hip Caused After Injury?

I recently fell off a step stool while changing a light bulb and landed on my right hip. It s not bruised but it s slightly swollen, hurts greatly, it s stiff and it s hard to walk. I m wondering if I should see a doctor or just continue icing it and let it work itself out.

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

You can continue to ice it for now, in addition to the other methods of treatment for muscle/soft tissue injury.
If there is no improvement within a few days or the symptoms worsen significantly then you should be assessed.

This other aspects include rest as much as possible and the use of anti inflammatory pain medication such as cataflam, ibuprofen, naproxen.

I hope this helps
