How To Treat Itchy Bumps?

Yesterday night (3am) my left pinky went randomly itchy and i thought it was insect bite but i couldnt find any bumps or bite marks so i just ignored it hoping it goes away. About 12 hours ago (3pm) still itchy i found several really tiny bumps on the finger but its not that visible. Its been 24 hours and the tiny bumps has spread to my arms. The bumps are really tiny and colourless but a bit pinkish and very itchy. Also i think my finger swelled because its kind of numb. Is it allergy? Or infection?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

As per your case history you are having insect bite dermatitis. My treatment advice is –

1. Don't squeeze the lesions as it may worsen the condition.
2. Apply a mild antibiotic plus steroid cream like fusiderm-b cream twice daily on it.
3. Take an antihistamine medication like levocetrizine twice daily for 7-10 days.
4. Other treatment options are oral antibiotics, oral steroid taken only after consulting a dermatologist.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Harshit Bhachech
