How To Treat Influenza Despite Having Fibromyalgia?

A few years ago, those of us with fibromyalgia were advised not to get flu shots, the theory being that fibro may be caused by a virus, and more viruses (dead or not) wouldn't be helpful to our health. Is there anything new on this? I ask because I have fibor, but have not had flu shots in years, and am recently recovering from a nasty case of Influenza Type A. Should I get a flu shot next year?
