How To Treat Inflammation In Vagina Caused After Having Intercourse?

I am 3 years into menopause. I am suffering from painful intercourse. My hubby and I use coconut oil as a lubricant. I put it on myself and insert with a dildo to get the lubricant up inside me, but my vagina still gets inflamed. I actually used and ice cube for the inflammation afterwards. Is there anything else (natural) that I can try to ease the inflammation?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
welcome to hcm,
I really appreciate your concern,
This sounds like a vaginal infection.
DO not take any medications without confirming the diagnosis first.
THe wrong medication can worsen your condition.
Please consult an OB - GYN specialist and get an internal exam done, and a vaginal swab and culture taken to confirm the exact infection type.
THen treatment will be suggested as per the result.
Please let me know if you have any questions,
thanks.regards.
