How To Treat Hematoma On Left Jaw Caused After Neck Lift Operation?

During my neck lift operation I lost a lot of blood due to bleeding which caused a hematoma on left jaw. 2wks later the hematoma started to bleed and was operated on the following day under anasthetic and bandaged up.It is now 6 wks post op and still swollen with lumpy bits to hematoma site. How much longer do I need to wait for hematoma to reabsorbe ? Many Thanks! Carolla

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have hematoma on left jaw caused after neck lift operation. Well many times hematoma occur due to injury to vessel or soft tissue during surgery or while giving anesthesia . I would suggest you to give ice pack several times a day and consult your doctor for proper examination . Doctor will examine physically to check tenderness and consistency . Doctor may drain the hematoma or may prescribe anticoagulant .
