How To Treat Head Indent In A 9 Years Old Child?

My 9 year ols son has an indent on the top left of his head. It does not hurt him. He has had it since he is small. The thing is. He is having real problems reading and writing at school. Thus, we were wondering if this indent in his head is causing his literacy issues?

Hi,
Welcome to Hcm,
Normally if such a deformity is there since birth then it usually is normal provided he is developmentally normal but of you have noticed a deteroration In his learning and cognitive skills then its worth to evaluate that part of his head mainly because its on the left side and that is usual dominant side thinking that he is a right handed person.
So if I were your doc, I would get an MRI of the brain to rule out any gross structural abnormality.
Take care.
