Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Dear patient
gout is caused by accumulation of uric acid in joints when it's level is increased in blood. Uric acid crystals lead to inflammation and pain. You need to take medication which reduce uric acid in blood along with diclofenac. one such is febuxostat 40 mg twice a day for month. Serum uric acid levels need to be checked after 2 weeks. Avoid protein rich diet and keep you self hydrated by drinking plenty of water.

diclofenc is a pain killer and it's use in gout for pain relief in acute atteack
however it does not prevent future attacks or decrease uric acid levels.
take low protein diet, avoid beer and consult orthopedics surgeon to start you on uric acid lowering drugs.
