Have he any swelling, change of shoulder shape, does it look different from before? These signs might indicate arm or shoulder bones fracture. In such cases a simple x-ray would give you the answer for that, and it would be better to get this examination done. Anyway if everything looks fine, and he has just pain while moving his arm, it might come for the hit of his arm/shoulder and from the crush syndrome. Bones, muscles, and tendons, need some more time to recover from the crush. So the pain will go gradually and he will be able to move his arm again. Just use ibuprofen for the pain and swelling. Artrosilene (ketoprofen) cream would be very helpful if you apply it locally to the place of bruising. P.S: I recommend again a x-ray of his shoulder/arm.
