How To Treat Diarrhea And Red Colored Stool?

My daughter has had diarrhea for the past 5 days we took her in and they said it was the stomach flu but it should clear up in a few days. Well now it s day 5 and she hasn t stopped going to the bathroom and her stool is like a mucus and a deep red color what should we do?

Hello,

Let me tell you that your daughter is having amoebic dysentery with added bacterial infection. You did not mention the age of your daughter. If I presume she is more than 14 years old then a combination of norfloxacin and tinidazole such as Norflox-TZ twice daily for 5 days will certainly help. Also, keep her well hydrated. Please consult a nearby doctor if condition remains same or worsen.
