Whenever I get cold I get runny nose itchiness in nose tears in eyes due to itchiness in nose. These symptoms doesn t go easily and last for more than 5 days followed by dry cough. I am scared of getting cold. I do get relief from cold and flu tablets but it lasts for few hours after dose. Please suggest what to do to reduce the symptoms easily and quickly. I usually avoid antibiotics.
Hello, I really appreciate your concern. From your description I think you are suffering from allergic rhinitis and cough. Allergic rhinitis is prone for recurrences. Definite treatment for any allergy is to identify the allergen, avoidance of allergen and use of proper anti-allergic medications. For diagnosis of allergen there are certain tests available. You should consult your physician in this regard. For treatment of rhinitis and dry cough you can take oral decongestant preparation plus anti allergic medications like antihistaminics (levocetrizine) or monterlukast (in severe case under physician's supervision). Hope my answer has solved your query. Take Care. Thank you.
