How To Treat Chest Pain?

Hello, I am a 20 year old female. I have been having chest pains for about a week now and I am pretty scared about what is wrong. In addition to the chest pains I have been burping a lot weird because I usually don t burp at all, and my left arm down to my middle finger has pains sometimes. I m not sure if that is related because I do hair a lot so for years sometimes my hands cramp up. Also, some background, I have asthma and 2 weeks before this started my asthma had gotten so bad that I had developed bronchitis. The coughing had put a lot of stress on my chest as well but the pain had went away after I took some medication. Some more background is that I had gained around 40 pounds in the last 10 months from inactivity (I used to do sports for 6 years & then stopped). Lastly, I thought the chest pain was from me crying a lot because I had a traumatic event recently and the pain came right after and got worse everyday that I was crying really hard. Sorry it s such a long message but as you can see, I have a lot of factors playing right now so I m really all over the place in terms of finding out what is wrong with me. Thank you in advance!

Pulmonologist 's  Response
Hello dear, thanks for your question on HCM.
I can understand your situation and problem.
In my opinion we should first rule out cardiac cause for your chest pain. So get done ECG. If this is normal then no need to worry for cardiac cause.
Uncontrolled asthma is the cause for your chest pain. And your burping can be due to GERD (gastroesophageal reflux disease). GERD can cause poor control of asthma. So In your case control of GERD and asthma is needed.
So consult pulmonologist and start inhaled treatment for asthma and proton pump inhibitor for GERD.
Once your asthma and GERD is control , your chest pain will also be subside.
Don't worry, you will be alright.
