How To Treat Body Weakness After Having Chemotherapy For CLL?
I have CLL ( Chronic Lymphyoctic Leukemia) and I have been in remission for two years however my body has not completely bounced back from chemotherapy. I have a very famous oncologist Dr. Kanti Rai so I know I m in the best hands on the planet. However my body has difficulty fighting infections and I don t like to bother Dr. Rai because people travel from all over the world to see him. Though we have a very special bond I now see him every 3 months and I email him from time to time. I just wanted to know will my body ever be the same again. I have damage from one of the chemo drugs Bendamustine and my body is not the same. Will it ever be?
The Bendamustine is an alkylating agent, used as cytotoxic anti-neoplastic molecule used in many of the cancer conditions (as solo therapy or in combination) including that of leukemia. Transient side effects as low white cell count, weakness from vitamin and iron deficiency do pause time being troubles. The effects reverse over a period of 2-3 months to return back to normal physiology once the primary pathology is well under control.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
