How To Treat Ankle Sprain Caused Due To Injury?

Hi. I tripped off a curb and injured my foot. Not an ankle sprain. Pain is on outside of foot to top ... Could it just be a sprained foot? I am using an aircast to immobilized it and icing it. ... more sprcifically, I rolled and landed on the outer edge of the foot. Any ideas? Thanks

Brief Answer:
Cuboid syndrome requiring manipulation by physiotherapist and bed rest.

Detailed Answer:
Warm Welcome. I appreciate your trust in HCM and assure you are on best portal on the globe for expert online medical services.

I have thoroughly reviewed health query you raised, and well realize all of those concerns. Being your physician, I will take care all of them today and will extend my expertise to solve the problems.

Based on what you said, it can be said with fair certainty that you have cuboid syndrome. Ankle sprain which you have experienced has most likely resulted into that.

An x-ray and MRI scan is advised in your case to rule out any other cause and usually doesn't show the cuboid bone displacement.

You need a manipulation by trained professional (physical therapist or podiatrist) and it has drastically improved many of my patients. You should also continue icing to reduce swelling and pain. You can also take tab. Diclofenac K 50mg twice day for pain relief.

Hope I addressed all the concerns you have. Let me know if you have further questions. I will be more than happy to clear any doubts. Keep a follow up to see how you doing.

Regards!
