How To Treat Abscess In Heart Valve Plus Shortness Of Breath Post Open Heart Surgery?

my sister has been very very sick for awhile now. A brief history: 3 kidney tranplants, open heart surgery ( resulting in cow replacement valve, countless other surgeries throughout 17 years. Most recent (October 2014) diagnosed with sepsis, hospitalized antibiotics round the clock for 12weeks. Infection coming from heart valve. Today, after completing all antibiotics, scope says abscess is still there, infection is gone, but abscess is basically just a "shell". Sent her home with instructions to immediately return if she develops a fever or her shortness of breath becomes worse. My concern is she is "wiped out" all of the time, she is very short of breath all of the time, and not much strength or muscle left at all. Her Physicians do not seem as concerned as her family. Are we right to be so concerned, or is this all part of her healing process? ANY information would be greatly greatly appreciated. Thank You!!
