Hi,I am Dr. Santosh Kondekar (Pediatrician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
how do you treat a three year old who has broncitus. I took her to the doctor and I was told to give her medication four days in a row. Should she rest in bed? Should she be kept quiet? Can she go to the playground? should she be kept quiet at home? My daughter let her go to school, and tomarrow she is going to take her to the playground. I think she should give her plenty of liquids and keep her quiet; at least until she finishes her medication
Hi..bronchitis is not a disease which requires bed rest. She can be undergoing treatment and still indulge her daily routine activities. 1. She doesn't need bed rest routinely....bed rest is required only if the kid is breathless. 2. She need not be kept quiet. 3. She can go to school. 4. She can go to playground. 5. I agree with you that she has to take plenty of oral fluids. Regards - Dr. Sumanth
