How To Treat A Painful Bump Leading To Discolouration On Leg?

My son fell today at school. He hurt his leg and there s a couple bumps that are hard and blue now. He s in a lot of pain and I m not sure if it requires going to see a Dr or not. He can walk on it but says it hurts to do so. It s between his knee and ankle on the front.

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

It would hurt whether it involves only soft tissue (muscles and surrounding ligaments) or bone. It is not likely, if he broke any area , that he would want to want though everyone has a different pain threshold.

You can consider monitoring for a few hours unless the pain is very severe.

Ice the area, rest, pain medication can be administered.

I hope this helps
